A whole year has passed since Nintendo Switch 2 launched on June 5th, 2025. While Nintendo is quite open with data on their first-party top sellers, the overall market is shrouded in mystery.
Thanks to the recent addition of support for Nintendo Switch library tracking on PlayTracker, we can reveal an approximate list of the 50 most played games on the record-setting new console, with rough estimates on total players.
Before we get into it, some notes:
- Based on engagement data of 1032 Switch 2 owners
join PlayTracker and invite your friends to pump those numbers up - Counting activity after acquiring the console only
- Numbers shown are estimated players, not unit sales
meaning they include second-hand plays and are naturally higher
With that out of the way, here is the full list:

Though domination of first-party exclusives was to be expected, Nintendo Classics also performed extremely well despite being behind a subscription, with Gamecube managing to beat Pokémon Pokopia to the top 3.
Many Switch 1 staples make an appearance, with those that were updated for Switch 2 leading the way - particularly if they were free or included with an online subscription.
We can also see strong placements for a couple of the biggest indie games like Hades and Hollow Knight. Minecraft manages to land on the list despite lacking a proper Switch 2 version/update.
While we are sticking to the top 50 today, we are hard at working making sure PlayTracker Insight can soon feature player estimates and other stats for all Nintendo Switch games. Keep an eye out.
