Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 is a role-playing video game developed by Atlus. In the game, the player takes the role of a male high-school student who joins the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad (SEES), a group of students investigating the Dark Hour, a time period between one day and the next that few people are aware of. During the Dark Hour, the player enters Tartarus, a large tower containing Shadows, creatures that feed on the minds of humans. To fight the Shadows, each member of SEES is able to summon a Persona, a manifestation of a person's inner self. In addition to the standard elements of role-playing games, Persona 3 includes elements of simulation games, as the game's protagonist progresses day by day through a school year, making friends and forming relationships that improve the strength of his Personas in battle.

Yakuza 5 is an open-world action-adventure game and the fifth main title in the Yakuza series developed by Sega. For the first time in the series, it features five settings across Japan along with five playable main characters. The game also features a brand new graphics engine, unlike previous games in the series that have been re-utilizing the same engine since Yakuza 3.

Final Fantasy Type-0 is set within Orience, a land divided between four nations or "Crystal States". Each nation has crystals of power based on the Four Symbols, which are in turn their national emblems. Each nation has an academy, or Peristylium, to research and protect the country's respective crystal. The crystals have the ability to mark humans as their countries' servants. These servants, called l'Cie, are branded with a symbol and are given a "Focus", a task to complete. While blessed with long life and the ability to transform into crystal, l'Cie are cursed to lose their memories over time. The people of Orience also lose their memories of the dead, so they will not be held back by any past regrets and continue strengthening their souls through conflict, a mechanism put in place by the crystals for the convenience of the deities who crafted them. The main aim of many characters is to become Agito, a legendary figure who will appear and save the world from Tempus Finis, an apocalyptic event that will destroy Orience.

In Tales Of Berseria players embark on a journey as they assume the role of Velvet, a young woman whose once gentle nature has been replaced and overcome with a festering anger and hatred after a traumatic experience three years prior to the events within Tales Of Berseria imbued her left hand with a special ability. Along her journey, Velvet will meet a whole cast of characters, including a young boy named Laphicet. If Velvet is the embodiment of "darkness," then Laphicet is created in the image of "light" and will be an important ally to Velvet.

Persona 5, a turn-based JRPG with visual novel elements, follows a high school student with a criminal record for a crime he didn't commit. Soon he meets several characters who share similar fates to him, and discovers a metaphysical realm which allows him and his friends to channel their pent-up frustrations into becoming a group of vigilantes reveling in aesthetics and rebellion while fighting corruption.

Ryuu ga Gotoku Ishin! is a historical action-adventure game developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and published by Sega. Released exclusively in Japan in 2014 for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, it is a spin-off of the Yakuza series, set during the Bakumatsu period of late Edo-era Japan (mid-1800s). The game follows Sakamoto Ryoma, a samurai modeled after series protagonist Kazuma Kiryu, as he becomes embroiled in political turmoil and seeks revenge for his mentor's assassination. The gameplay combines the brawler-style combat of the main Yakuza series with swordplay and gunfighting mechanics. Players can engage in the main story, participate in side activities, and explore the historical setting of Kyo (based on Kyoto).
